JASPER Transmissions Used in Racing

In 2021, thirty NASCAR® team/driver combinations are using the JASPER 4-Speed Transmission. Of those thirty team/driver combinations, eighteen are being used in the NASCAR® Cup Series, and twelve are being used in the NASCAR® Xfinity Series.

According to a Jasper Engines and Transmissions press release, “The following NASCAR® Cup Series teams are using the JASPER 4-Speed Transmission in 2021: Stewart-Haas Racing, with drivers Kevin Harvick, Aric Almirola, Chase Briscoe, and Cole Custer. Joe Gibbs Racing, with drivers Denny Hamlin, Kyle Busch, Martin Truex, Jr., and Christopher Bell. Richard Childress Racing, with drivers Austin Dillon and Tyler Reddick. MBM Motorsports, with drivers Timmy Hill and Chad Finchum. Richard Petty Motorsports, with driver Erik Jones. 23XI Racing, with driver Bubba Wallace. Trackhouse Racing Team, with driver Daniel Suarez. Kaulig Racing, with driver Kaz Grala. Live Fast Motorsports, with driver BJ McLeod, and Gaunt Brothers Racing, with driver Ty Dillon.”

The Jasper Engines and Transmissions press release also stated that, “The following NASCAR® Xfinity Series teams are using JASPER 4-Speed Transmissions in 2021: Joe Gibbs Racing, with drivers Daniel Hemric, Brandon Jones, Harrison Burton, and a fourth driver on a rotating basis. Stewart-Haas Racing, with driver Riley Herbst. Kaulig Racing, with drivers Jeb Burton, Justin Haley, and AJ Allmendinger. MBM Motorsports, with drivers Timmy Hill, Chad Finchum, and a third driver on a rotating basis, and RSS Racing, with driver Ryan Sieg.”

In 2020, JASPER products accounted for nineteen wins, eighty-nine top-five finishes, and 163 top-ten finishes in the NASCAR® Cup Series. In the NASCAR® Xfinity Series, they accounted for twenty-one wins in 2020.

Now Available: Toyota 1GR-FE 4.0L V6 Engines

We are pleased to announce that Hollifield Auto Repair & Towing in Marion, NC, is now able to provide re-manufactured replacement engines for the Toyota 1GR-FE gas engine line through our JASPER Engine partnership! This 4.0L, Dual OHC, Single VVT, V6 engine is available for the following Toyota applications: 2003-2015 (4Runner, Tacoma, FJ Cruiser, Tundra).

“JASPER replaces the OE cast aluminum pistons with forged aluminum pistons of our own design,” says Brad Boeglin, JASPER New Product Development Group Leader. “The JASPER-engineered pistons have a 38% larger oil return area. This is coupled with the use of a two-piece oil ring design, replacing the three-ring design of the OE piston. These two changes improve oil control and prevent the oil rings from sticking.”

“In addition, the JASPER-engineered piston has a profiled top ring land to reduce scuffing under high-load, and an anodized crown for higher heat strength and top ring stability,” said Boeglin. “Our specially-designed pistons utilize a wider graphite-coated skirt to prevent dry startup piston scuffing,” added Boeglin. “We've also improved the skirt profile for greater piston stability.”

The JASPER re-manufactured Toyota 1GR-FE is covered by a 3-Year/100,000-Mile nationwide, transferable, parts and labor warranty. Full warranty disclosure is available upon request.
